omg omg omg, i'm so happy today! the Singapore round for WSC is finally over and after a few months of hard work (particularly the last few days :P) we are going to KL! yepp, with the rest of the teams from DHS too YAY. you cannot believe how nervous, how afraid, how frightening it was when the results were released this afternoon. it started with DHS team 62 (which was zeng's group) being announced. followed by a zillion other schools. as there were only about 18 places (top 50%) for the global round, i was literally praying for a miracle to happen. for us to say hello to KL. my heart was pumping at its fastest rate ever. and i almost hyperventilated.

it seemed like years had passed until they finally announced: DUNMAN HIGH SCHOOL TEAM 63. so that was my cue. okay our cue, and i (with siow and linny) started screaming hysterically, the loudest and the highest pitched scream i could force out. i knew we attracted loads of stares and perhaps even glares from the others, but that was the least we could care about. WE GOT IN, WE MADE IT. so all the hard work had paid off, mugging the resources till my eyes were dry and sore, till i saw stars, and finally till i fell asleep on the table. i love you guys, this was the moment i was waiting <3 we passed through the debate round exceeding our own expectations (2 out of 3 possible rounds!) and the scholar's bowl was kinda awesome (sorry about the part on modern metropolis, i promise i will strive to recite to you the entire resource by the global round XP).


i was also really happy to be able to get third for literature! zomg literature! for a student who takes geog, this is really a feat haha :D i'm really really shocked when my name is called and i could have probably asked is that me? and before i forget to mention, Mr Ken is a lifesaver gosh. thankfully, the lit session was postponed to last friday. thank goodness our team didn't miss it. perhaps it was all fate? because that session really helped; especially or my essay! haha, "Forrest Gump would have never agreed to go for the operation in Flowers For Algernon" ZOMG. he totally went through that on friday <3

i'm really over the moon right now! perhaps even on cloud 10 hahahahahahaha. i love today. everything's definitely worth it. i will treasure this opportunity.
